Are you selling products on Amazon or planning to sell products on Amazon? Then this article will be of interest to you. We are constantly asked by clients and followers what the guidelines for Amazon product images are and what makes a product image or infographic attractive to consumers.
The saying “a picture is worth a thousand words,” is extremely applicable to your product listing images. Poor quality photos and images can turn customers off, while vibrant, dynamic, well-composed photos and images can differentiate your business from the competition, attract shoppers to buy, and eventually drive sales.
According to Amazon, advertisers should choose images that are clear, easy to understand, information-rich, and attractively presented. Main images must accurately represent the product and show only the product that’s for sale.
Every product on Amazon needs one or more product images. The primary image of your product is called the “MAIN.” The MAIN image for a product is the one shown in the search results and browse pages. It is the first image customers see on product detail pages.
Now, let’s see some examples of main images:
3. The image must not show inset images.
4.The product must be clearly visible in the image.
5.The product must fill 85% or more of the image.
Additional points to keep in mind:
- MAIN images should be supplemented with additional images showing different sides of a product, the product in use, or details that aren’t visible in the MAIN image, such as infographics.
- A white background is recommended, but not required.
- Additional images must not include logos or watermarks, and all props or accessories must be presented in a way that does not cause customer confusion.
Images are very important to customers, so quality matters. Choose images that are clear, easy to understand, information-rich, and attractively presented.
